Haveing completed original GW 3 times and Factions 5 times and with the exception of ONE mission done it ALL with pugs. I have no problem with them. Sure you get bad ones and lately it seems there are more and more bad pugs. But I have also played in some awesome ones too. Yes there are worse things than a pug tank. A pug sin who THINKS hes a tank.

Yes I'm in a guild and its a big one but since we are from all over the world there is not all ways people on who want to do what you want. So its pugs or hench.

What's wrong with PUGs is that henchmen do the job far better and faster. :P

But I see your point. I completed Prophecies and Factions with mostly PUGs. It meant I had to restart a few times, because you frequently get people who are just unfortunate in their mental capacity, but it also means you usually get someone who knows what they're doing. These people are great.

For Factions, which I only completed recently, I had no idea of the "best" way to complete missions, but luckily there was usually one person who had done it before, and helped the group through. If I took henchmen in such a mission, you can bet there would be mistakes made just because I don't know what is coming next. In Prophecies on the other hand, I know all the missions so well that it's far more efficient to do them with henchmen who will follow my commands exactly. THK is a good example where you are 80% more likely to succeed with henchmen than with a random PUG.

I've disliked pugs from the begining and here's a couple of examples why.

Was trying to get master on Vizunah and I saw in all chat, "2 monks doing masters group, no blind invites, whisper details", and I thought alright, this should be good. Well the monks were good but the rest of the party consisted of one guy who kept asking to see my bow, while we were fighting. Another guy who started slingling homphobic comments after I had told someone that they had a dye drop and the homophobe guy asked what color and I said not yours. He then called me gay. The necro dropped shortly after we started and both sides (canthans and tyrians) just sucked in general.

Another time, I was on my monk and we were trying to do the last mission, which if done right, is the fastest and easiest mission in the game. We kept dying. We came out one time and the necro is screaming at me, calling me all kinds of noob etc. I whispered to the party leader, either kick him or kick me, but I am not going to do the mission with this guy one more time. She kicked him, replaced him and we beat the mission and got masters. Sometimes I just love my monk.

I will admit to having played with good pug groups but the bad out weighs the good.
